Thermi (or “Tou Christou ta Thermi”, or “Christos”) is a beautiful, secluded beach inside the Caldera, just below Megalochori village, with great views.
The beach is relatively big with large black pebbles, pumice stone, deep, crystal clear waters and is surrounded by colorful red volcanic rocks.
The view of the small church, which is devoted to Christ, carved in the rock above the beach is very impressive when you see the beach from the sea.
You will hardly find many people there, as the access is only possible by boat or on foot through a narrow and steep pathway that starts at the edge of Megalochori village, near to Boutari Winnery. It takes about 25 minutes to head downhill. The way up is not easy, especially in the hot hours of the day and it can take about 40 minutes.
